Announcing Logi Intelligence Server for Historical Analysis and Enterprise Search

LogiXML continues to innovate the way you do BI by making advanced analysis capabilities easy and Web-based. This release of Logi Mart will include our Logi Intelligence Server, which is an advanced analysis component that is easy to setup and maintain and offers valuable enterprise search and historical analysis capabilities. In the Logi 8 platform, Logi Intelligence Server seamlessly integrates with Logi Info for you to build reports that fully take advantage of these valuable new features.

Add the New ‘Time Machine’ to Your Reports to Understand the Past and Better Plan for the Future
Recognizing that organizations need to analyze and report on both current and historical data, LogiXML has developed a powerful historical data capture capability in the Logi Intelligence Server. Logi Intelligence Server offers a unique ‘time machine’ element that lets you easily capture a snapshot of data on a scheduled basis and then archive and compare that data over time. Once the new time machine data layer has been established it can be easily integrated into any report in Logi Info. You can easily create trend reports to analyze that data and be notified of any exceptions.

Logi Intelligence Server allows you to archive critical data over a period of time, compare historical data and calculations, enable automated alerts or processes for exceptions in historical data, and create important trend reports, for example, to explore whether product sales are trending up or down in the last week or month by geographical region.

Instantly Add Google-style Search Boxes to Your Reports
LogiXML is excited to announce that the Logi Intelligence Server makes stored data searchable and gives you the tools to easily add free-text search capabilities to your organization’s reports. Search capabilities in BI solutions help to extend easy information access to a broader user base across the organization. Search makes it easy for end users to find information most relevant to their needs in a dynamic, free-style and casual way, just like they have become used to in their browsers.

Easily search your report data with free-text searches

The new search capability fully conforms to the Logi security model. Server administrators maintain control over data connections and security, easily defining the data tables that are searchable for users. They can define how to display the results and further limit which data columns are searchable and which get shown to the user. The search input can come from any user-input type element; for instance, it can be hard-coded (i.e., users select search terms from a drop-down menu) or can allow free text input. The search input can also come from another report or Web application.

Continued Enhancements to Logi Mart
A specialized data repository for reporting and analysis, Logi Mart continues to offer powerful caching and pre-calculation features to help you serve faster report results. Enhancements to Logi Mart include new and improved action logs and a more refined data mart table definition structure. Instead of a single, lengthy data mart definition that defines your data mart tables, Logi Mart now offers a global settings definition with multiple associated table definitions. Deliver Ad Hoc Reporting Globally with New Internationalization Support

LogiXML's BI, reporting and analysis software is now being used in more than 77 countries. To meet the needs of our increasingly global customers, we realize software tools need to cater to a diverse, international audience. To extend the global reach of ad hoc reporting and analysis capabilities, the latest release of Logi Ad Hoc can now be offered in other languages, making it even more useful to our global customers and partners. The Logi Ad Hoc user interface (UI) is now fully internationalized; UI text, buttons, and so on, can be easily and readily translated to other languages using resource files external to the source code.

Logi Ad Hoc has also become even easier to use in version 8.2. Based on customer feedback, a number of enhancements make it easier for end users to walk through the steps of building reports. Menus have been expanded to provide one-click access to functionality, and more embedded help is available. Also, enterprise Logi customers who import reports they create with Logi Info into Logi Ad Hoc now have access to a convenient Web-based report definition editor. Edit Reports in Any Standard Web Browser with the New Logi Web Studio

One of the most exciting updates in Version 8.2 of Logi Info is the New Logi Web Studio, which offers increased mobility and developer productivity in editing reports. This convenient, Web-based report definition editor is accessible in any standard Web browser for developers to make changes to reports anytime, anywhere. This tool is zero-footprint and offers greater flexibility for report maintenance and for using non-Windows platforms like Linux/UNIX and Apple Macintosh. Logi Web Studio is not a separately licensed product but is included with Logi Info.

Unique Text Visualization
This release extends Web 2.0-style visualization features to reports with Text Clouds. You’ve seen them on various news or blogging sites; now you can include Text Clouds right in your reporting and analysis applications. A Text Cloud is a visual depiction of the weighting of words, links, and phrases. The relative font sizes and colors of words or phrases within the Text Cloud indicate their weighting, frequency or other numeric value. With the words or phrases easily setup as links, you can enable further drill down into detailed data. You have full control over the color and font selections used in this unique-to-Logi 8 feature.

A new Tabs element is also available to let you easily include multiple reports like tables and charts in a single Web page. Multiple tabs appear in the users’ Web page so they can easily ‘tab’ through each report without having to scroll or navigate through various menus.
