The Challenge

“We built a system for our national education research client that helped them collect data via handheld devices for a study of key performance measures at a number of school districts around the country," said Tracen President, DeAnna Davidson. "Our solution was great for getting the data to a central location, but we needed to extend the system with a true Web-based solution for reporting and analyzing the data.”

The demands of the national reporting application required a robust reporting engine that Tracen could use to organize the data for analysis and enforce security controls after the data came in from the collectors. In addition, the clients wanted the freedom to build and publish reports themselves, so it was essential for the reporting tool to be very intuitive and easy to understand.

The Solution

Using LogiXML’s Ad Hoc product, Tracen was able to publish the data to its geographically distributed user base via the Web. Tracen was also able to provide the infrastructure for the client to add additional reports on their own in the future, effectively meeting both objectives.
