Corporate Performance Management (CPM) is a valuable process for a company to stay on a path of continuous improvement. CPM consists of measuring a company’s performance against its own objectives and the industry-best standards. But in spite of the known effectiveness of CPM, many small to mid-sized companies are hesitant to implement it, believing the process to be costly and time consuming.

Inca Planning Solutions, LLC, has made it its mission to provide a CPM solution for exactly this type of customer. The Challenge

“Our customers quickly recognized the value of their CPM solution when they implemented the Inca system, so they immediately wanted more data,” notes Mike McKimson, President of Inca. “But more data on performance meant more data to compare and analyze quickly and accurately. So we went searching for business intelligence (BI) technology that would allow us to process a much higher volume of data in a way that would meet our high standards.”

“Our team has worked with several BI vendors in the past,” continues McKimson. “However, we kept encountering the same two difficulties:

• Firstly, integrating the vendors’ product with the Inca system was a complex and time-consuming process;
• Secondly, prices were consistently too high for the SBM market.”

The Solution

As a result of this search for a BI system that would meet their needs, Inca partnered with LogiXML. The Inca team found the LogiXML product, open standard and pricing model to be a match for both their operational and their business needs.

“We found the Logi products to be high-value, proven BI tools that met and exceeded the product functionality standards we were requiring,” says McKimson. “In addition, the aggressive pricing and the pure Web-based format of the LogiXML solutions meant that we could actually build a CPM-optimized BI suite on top of the Logi engine and sell it as a product to our customer base.”

The Results
