Reporting AND Analysis in BI
by LogiXML BIz Comm Editorial Staff
July 28, 2006
At LogiXML, we feel that Business Intelligence (BI) comprises analysis and reporting delivered via various reporting styles such as Ad Hoc, Managed, and OLAP. As BI is becoming more important across all departments and users of an organization, we provide a range of product suites on a unified platform to meet these varying needs. This includes highly formatted managed reports, advanced parameterized reports, interactive analysis grids, Excel-based reporting, PDF form-based reporting, at-a-glance heat maps, dashboarding, end user ad hoc reporting, and so on.

Analysis and reporting go hand and hand. And, at LogiXML we believe there should be analysis alternatives. This is important for companies that are limited by resources, i.e., who aren't really interested in a full OLAP infrastructure. Organizations and users in that organization should have a choice in their BI strategies. Companies shouldn’t be limited to certain types of BI just because it may be cost or resource prohibitive. We believe in providing full-featured, Web-based BI products that run on a unified platform and that are also affordable. And, we have structured our business and product offerings accordingly.
Reporting AND Analysis in BI
As BI becomes more critical to organizations of all sizes and to various personnel across those organizations, they need solutions that address a wide range of reporting AND analysis needs. OLAP, however, is not always a viable option for some small to mid-size companies for a variety of reasons, including cost (IT resources, specialized skill sets/required expertise, hardware) and complexity (complex infrastructure, cumbersome setup, ongoing maintenance).
